Hey guys! Time for another private jet trip report! Two Wednesdays ago, I flew from Portales to Sacramento. I'm sure you've probably never heard of Portales, so here is some information about it. Portales, New Mexico is a small town in and the county seat of Roosevelt County. Its population is just over 12,000 people. It is mostly a farm/college town for Eastern New Mexico University. The airport, "Portales Municipal Airport", is averaging 20,000 aircraft operations a year, with an average of 54 per day: 85% general aviation and 15% military. At that time there were 21 aircraft based at this airport: 86% single-engine, 5% multi-engine, and 9% helicopter.
